Woman Stuffing Her Face With a Stinky Sandwich on a Bus in NYC
For the record, item (f) in section 1050.6 of the MTA's rules of conduct clearly states, no person shall bring or carry onto a conveyance any liquid in an open container, but New York's public transit system rejected a ban on eating food. That said, is eating food on a packed bus acceptable? Due to the fact that eating can be messy and malodorous, many public transit systems have prohibited it. What do you think?
I recently returned from New York, where I encountered multiple instances of food consumption on mass transit. If it wasn’t so hot, I’m sure the odor of the McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger wouldn’t have been so foul...
This video presents some evidence to continue the debate. Besides the horror of watching this woman inhale her food like it was her last, what the video doesn't show you is that her foot long Subway sandwich stunk the up the entire bus with the smell of vinegar, that she used an additional seat for a table, and left the place a mess of crumbs. Thankfully, the people on the bus had a strong stomach, which kept the vomiting to a minimum.
