The Hipster Move a Checklist by FlatRate
On the Q train, this poster ad campaign by FlatRate Moving hilariously pokes fun at the NYC hipster crowd. For the ultra-sensitive types, it has struck a few nerves in the past. One quote regarding it's contents is, "Flatrate Movers openly mocking hipster customers."
What makes this ad so ingenious is the fact that it is openly mocking their customer base. On the surface, this tactic could prove futile but seeing as no one actually calls theirself a "hipster," it has become a safe and well received marketing gimmick. In fact, hipsters aren't the only stereotype to fall prey to FlatRate's almost legendary ads which continually grace NYC's subways, offering up a light chuckle while people commute.
