Last year, according to a Buisness Insider poll, New York was deservedly deemed the RUDEST and MOST ARROGANT state in the country. For being the rudest, New York received 680 of 1545 votes, 44%. As for being the most arrogant, the state received 612 of 1568 votes, 39%. To anyone who has ever visited New York City, this comes as no surprise.
But, what may be a shock to some is that everyone living in New York is not as cold-hearted as perceived. In fact, there are many who strive to promote good old fashioned values in some small way. One such beautiful spirit is Sandra of Sandra's Food Spot whose "Special" of the day was a reminder to her customers that #MannersMatter.
The handwritten sign served up two fundamental ways of being polite.
It read, "Manners is Universal" and below that in all capital letters:
Before taking this picture, her coworker said with a chuckle, "Please excuse the improper grammar." Grammar just so happens to be on the docket of polling categories at Man's Marbles but, seeing as she is attempting to make NYC a little less rude and arrogant, we should give her a free pass on this one!
So, next time you are New York City, pay Sandra's Food Spot a visit for some great food, and service with a smile...well, as long as you remember to say "please" and "thank you."
